Simon Sebag Montefiore

Simon Sebag Montefiore is a British historian whose books include "Jerusalem: The Biography" (2011) — the definitive modern history of Jerusalem — "Stalin: The Court of the Red Tsar," and "The Romanovs." His "Jerusalem: The Biography" is particularly relevant as a credible source on the deep historical and religious significance of Jerusalem, the origins of its contested status, and the Jewish historical connection to the land — all topics directly relevant to countering ahistorical claims about Israel and Palestine.
