Scott Tinker is a geoscientist, State Geologist of Texas, and director of the Bureau of Economic Geology at the University of Texas at Austin. He is the producer and narrator of the documentary "Switch" (2012) and its sequel "Switch On" (2020), which examine global energy systems from a data-driven, geoscience perspective. His credibility on climate and energy is based on geological and energy-system expertise — specifically, the physical and economic constraints on transitioning global energy systems — rather than on climate advocacy.
