Darryl Cooper

Darryl Cooper, known by his podcast name "MartyrMade," is a history podcaster with no academic credentials in history. He holds no degree in history, has published no peer-reviewed research, and is not affiliated with any academic institution. His multi-part podcast series "Fear and Loathing in the New Jerusalem" presents a revisionist account of WWII that frames Winston Churchill as the primary villain of the war, portrays Hitler's repeated "peace offers" as genuine and Churchill's rejection of them as the cause of the war's scale of destruction, and characterizes the Holocaust narrative as having been instrumentalized for political ends. These conclusions are not supported by mainstream historical scholarship and align structurally with Holocaust minimization and Nazi rehabilitation talking points. He was presented to tens of millions of listeners as a credible historian by Tucker Carlson (August 2023, multi-hour X interview), Joe Rogan (The Joe Rogan Experience), and Candace Owens — none of whom disclosed that he holds no historical qualifications. His work is cited by antisemites and Holocaust deniers as academic-seeming cover for their positions. He is an unreliable source on WWII history, the Holocaust, and any topic touching on Nazi-era events.
