NBC News is the news division of NBC, owned by Comcast/NBCUniversal. Its reporting is generally factually reliable but shows center-left editorial framing consistent with the broader NBCUniversal organization.
**FlyDubai FZ1073 coverage:** NBC News's initial headline — 'Pilot stabbed his co-pilot in apparent attempt to crash Israel-bound plane, Netanyahu says' — contained a significant factual inversion: it was the CO-PILOT who stabbed the CAPTAIN/PILOT, not the other way around. Every other source — passengers, Israeli authorities, Saudi preliminary findings, and the UAE — confirmed the Omani first officer (co-pilot) attacked Captain Smit Machchhar. NBC had the attacker and victim reversed in its headline. The headline also attributes the crash-attempt framing solely to Netanyahu, despite multiple corroborating passenger accounts.
