Breitbart News is a right-leaning U.S. news and opinion website. It covers stories underreported by mainstream progressive outlets — Islamic terrorism, illegal immigration crime, and media bias — and covers them more completely on those specific beats. Its credibility is mixed: factual on its preferred topics, but prone to sensationalism and selective framing favorable to its political worldview. Its FlyDubai coverage was more factually complete and accurate than most mainstream outlets.
**FlyDubai FZ1073 coverage:** Breitbart initially used the same 'brawl between pilots' language that other media used (reflecting early wire-service framing), but rapidly updated to call it a hijacking attempt and covered the Israeli passengers' heroism prominently. Breitbart's initial headline 'Israel-Bound Flight Diverted to Saudi Arabia After \'Brawl\' Between Pilots' put scare quotes around 'Brawl' to signal the inadequacy of that framing — a different editorial choice than BBC/Guardian/NYT, who used the word straight.
